Can I give up or delete a domain after I've registered it?

If you have registered a domain and changed your mind (because of a typo or because the project is no longer current), it is important to know the cancellation rules. Due to the way domain registries operate worldwide, the return policy is very strict.

1. Return Policy (Refund)

Unlike web hosting packages, which may have a "Money Back Guarantee" period, domain names are not refundable.

  • Once a domain has been registered, TicketHelp immediately pays the fee to the central registry (ROTLD, ICANN, etc.).

  • These fees are final and non-refundable, therefore the amount paid for the domain cannot be returned to the customer.

2. Correcting typos

If you misspelled the domain name when ordering:

  • Cannot change: A registered domain cannot be "edited". The only solution is to register a new domain with the correct spelling and pay a new fee.

  • Tip: At least double-check the domain name in your shopping cart before completing checkout.

3. Domain deletion

If you no longer want the domain, you have two options:

  • Let the domain expire: This is the simplest method. Simply disable the "Auto-Renewal" option in the customer account and do not pay the renewal bill. On the expiration date, the domain will be suspended and after a period (see domain life cycle), it will be automatically deleted from the system.

  • Immediate Deletion Request: You can request domain deletion early by submitting a support ticket. However, note that this does not involve a refund and the domain will immediately become unavailable to you (and possibly available to other buyers after the quarantine period).

4. What happens to the hosting service?

If you bought a hosting package with the domain and want to give up everything:

  • Hosting may benefit from return policy (subject to our terms and conditions).

  • The domain will remain active and in your ownership until expiration, even if you cancel the hosting service.

's recommendation

Before requesting deletion of a domain, consider whether you can use it for:

  • Redirect: Send visitors from that domain to your main site.

  • Brand Protection: Keep it so a competitor can't use a similar name.
