Open a TicketIf you've ever set up an email account on your phone or in a program like Outlook, you've probably come across the term SMTP. This is the "engine" behind sending your messages over the Internet.
SMTP comes from Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. If the IMAP or POP3 protocol deals with receiving messages (getting them to your mailbox), SMTP is the protocol solely responsible for sending them from you to the recipient.
You will need our SMTP server address in the following situations:
Configuring mail clients: Outlook, Thunderbird, Apple Mail or Gmail (for the "Send mail as" function).
WordPress Sites: To ensure that contact emails or order notifications go to customer Inbox and not Spam (using plugins like WP Mail SMTP).
Custom Apps: Any software that sends automatic notifications.
To send emails using our servers, use the following standard settings:
| Setting | Recommended Value |
| SMTP Server | mail.domeniultau.ro (or the server name from the welcome email) |
| Port (SSL/TLS) | 465 (Secure - Recommended) |
| Port (Non-SSL) | 587 (STARTTLS) or 25 |
| Login | YES (Username and password are required) |
| User | Your full email address (eg: contact@domeniultau.ro) |
| Password | Password set for that email address |
Many sites default to the PHP Mail function to send messages. Our recommendation is to always switch to SMTP because:
Deliverability: Emails sent via SMTP are digitally signed and have a much higher chance of reaching the Inbox.
Security: SMTP requires a password, which prevents unauthorized messages from being sent from your server.
Monitoring: You can see exactly in the server log (Logs) if a mail was sent or gave an error.
Connection error: Check that port 465 or 587 is not blocked by your antivirus or your office internet network.
Authentication failed: Make sure you enter the full email address as the user, not just the part before the @ symbol.
SSL error: If the server mail.domeniultau.ro gives a certificate error, use the host name of the server instead (ex: node1.tickethelp.ro).
