Open a TicketThis guide will help you manually transfer a website's files and database to our servers, whether you use cPanel or DirectAdmin.
Before starting the upload, make sure that:
All site files are archived in one .zip format file.
The database is exported in .sql format (if the site is dynamic, like WordPress).
Log in to cPanel.
Go to File Manager.
Enter the public_html directory.
Click the Upload button and select the .zip archive on your computer
After the transfer is complete, select the archive in the File Manager and press the Extract button.
Log in to DirectAdmin.
Navigate to System Info & Files -> File Manager.
Access the path: domains -> domiul_tau.ro -> public_html.
Use the Upload button (or the "+" icon) to upload the .zip archive.
Right click on the uploaded file and choose the option Extract.
If your site uses a database (MySQL/MariaDB), follow these steps:
Create database:
cPanel: Use the MySQL Database Wizard to create the database, user and associate them.
DirectAdmin: Go to MySQL Management -> Create New Database.
Data import:
Open phpMyAdmin from the control panel.
Select the newly created database from the list on the left.
Go to the tab Import, choose the file .sql and press the button Go (Execute).
The last step is to update the site script to recognize the new database. Edit the configuration file directly from the File Manager (eg wp-config.php, config.php or .env).
Modify the following variables with the data set in Step 3:
DB_NAME (Database Name)
DB_USER (Database User)
DB_PASSWORD (User password)
DB_HOST (Remains, as a rule, localhost)
DNS Propagation: If you have changed domain nameservers, the propagation process may take 2 to 24 hours.
PHP Version: Make sure the PHP version on the server is compatible with your site (Select PHP Version section).
SSL Certificates: Once the domain is functional, you can activate the free SSL certificate (Let's Encrypt) from the SSL Certificates section.
